The Company is a leader in offshore drilling, providing contract drilling services to the energy industry around the globe with a total fleet of 38 offshore drilling rigs, including two rigs under construction.

The Company's fleet consists of 27 semisubmersibles, one of which is under construction, five dynamically positioned drillships, one of which is under construction, and six jackups.

The Company’s headquarters are in Houston, Texas. Primary regional offices are located in Brazil, Scotland, and Singapore, with local offices in other countries as required to support operations.

Approximately 5,200 people work for the Company on board rigs and in onshore offices. The Company’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig

Contego was deployed to The Company’s Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig while it was working for Woodside off the North West Shelf in Australia. Contego assisted the rig in managing its Lifting Equipment and the associated certification and inspection requirements. Contego demonstrated its value when the rig was audited by NOPSEMA. Contego was deployed to both the Perth Office and the rig which allowed both onshore and offshore personnel to access the required records during the audit.

Technical Details

Contego was deployed on SQL Server 2012 at both the Perth regional office and Offshore Rig. It was a Microsoft clickonce deployment with prerequisite software installed on all rig computers to minimize the download size of the initial deployment package. Microsoft Sync services was configured to point both the office and rig server to the Contego cloud to allow updates to be pushed and pulled from all locations.
